I haven’t read poems in public in quite sometime. Freddy at Vegetarian Alcoholic Press invited me to join for the Lit Fam series in Milwaukee so I’m going to dive in. Details on this here flyer. Have to get some practice in for putting my next book out after I graduate in spring. Come for the fantastic beer selection – stay for the rampant poetry!
See you at Var Gallery this Thursday, February 15 at 8:00pm for Short Shots! This show features 7 poets including myself – and it’s free.
Another poet can’t make with the poetry, so join me for emergency poetry in Milwaukee. Save the day with me for poetry’s sake! Monday, January 8. Complete details below.
I participated in a reading this winter in which participants were challenged to recite a poem by another poet. I picked one of my favorites, Lying in a Hammock at William Duffy’s Farm in Pine Island, Minnesota by James Wright (here if you’d like just the text). Below is my rendition via video. I have no idea what I said to make people laugh as this video starts, and I guess we never will. I think that’s terrific.
