Bubbler Talk

May 23, 2017

I ended up on WUWM’s Bubbler Talk asking a question about the history of Milwaukee’s Bridge Wars. I’m not sure why my throat sounds like it’s being massaged by a belt sander – I swear I’m fine. Go here to listen to some fun and interesting Milwaukee history.

Here is the original volume side by side with the 34 years later sequel. This time, myself and 46 other Milwaukee poets are rendered in this volume. You can pre-order a copy here, otherwise join us for the release event at 7:00pm on Thursday, May 25.

Here is my final television reporting piece for this semester, a spotlight on Walker’s Point and Fuel Cafe’s Two Wheel Thursday. For this one we had to come in at longer than 60 seconds and under 1:20.

Within one brief brainstorming meeting we came up with the theme, name, and basic layout for the invitation for our Annual Gala at Schlitz Audubon. Below is the invitation, completed within a few days after selecting props. I love working with a nimble in-house creative team, how we can come up with ideas that excite us and have the resources and trust from our colleagues to make what we imagine live within hours or days.

I’ve had this idea for awhile now and am finally getting started on it. I picked up these side covers from Boxer Cafe because they look very well made, and the stock metal BMW /5 side covers are getting stupid expensive. The stock /6 models are boooo-ring and these have a nice art deco vibe. So I’m going to make something of my own. I’d had it in mind to paint the tank anyway, so this is a good opportunity to make everything match. Stay tuned…
