Finding Flint

April 30, 2017

A brief tour exploring Flint, Michigan, including The Center For Hope, Edible Flint, a free bottled water pickup, and the Flint Farmers’ Market. This is part of a project I participated in at UW – Milwaukee, Finding Flint.

Here is an article I wrote about Flint Michigan, and how it has affected a couple of its residents. Also are a handful of photos of the city, such as the one below. Go here to read:

Here is a piece about the most recent UW-Milwaukee Annual Pow Wow. This took a fair amount of research to accurately and respectfully render, and which I hope I’ve done a decent job of doing. Read the full piece here at Media Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel covered our Warbler Gallery Opening. Go here to read about it, and other things regarding birds in spring.

I participated in a reading this winter in which participants were challenged to recite a poem by another poet. I picked one of my favorites, Lying in a Hammock at William Duffy’s Farm in Pine Island, Minnesota by James Wright (here if you’d like just the text). Below is my rendition via video. I have no idea what I said to make people laugh as this video starts, and I guess we never will. I think that’s terrific.
