I got to record this wonderful sound last week at work.
Baptisia, also known as Wild Indigo or False Indigo, is a native Wisconsin plant and resident of our prairies. After seed pods empty and dry they croon a curious melody while dangling in the drafty afternoon sun.
Today I received word that I’ve been awarded the Journal Foundation Walter Jay and Clara Charlotte Damm Scholarship for students pursuing a career in radio, television or other news and entertainment communication media.
I’m glad because I really enjoyed the essay I wrote for the application. It being well received makes me feel like I’m on the right track with writing and I’m very excited to someday be in less debt!
I had some poems accepted by Furrow Magazine. It’s one of those rare printed on real paper dealies. The release event is on May 11. Somewhere in Milwaukee are the most comprehensive details to date.
